The ‘Colours of Art’ series is a concept that Iain and Bob came up with starting in 2015 to move the New Era vineyards wine label away from the more conventional mainstream varieties that we had been producing and cultivate more experimental alternative varieties.<\/p>\n
The plan was to produce a collection of artworks that would each symbolize a distinct grape variety produced under our label, and in total 9 artworks were created. \u00a0The next task was to locate an artist who could create these pieces for the New Era wine label and Dan Tomkins, a local artist, was carefully selected for this after careful consideration and extensive research. \u00a0After developing a variety of ideas for these representation\u2019s we came up with a series of paintings that depicts each grape in colour, form and texture<\/em>, which can now be observed on our labels in our \u2018Colours of Art\u2019 collection.<\/p>\n The varieties we included in our range are Pinot Grigio, Gruner Veltliner, Arneis, Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Lagrein, Syrah, and Touriga Nacional.\u00a0 We have also been planting small trials of Fiano, Saperavi, Nebbiolo and Nero d Avola.<\/p>\n The ‘Colours of Art…<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.neweravineyards.com.au\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Art-Series-range-resized.jpg\")
